Zip | Can I zip files?
Yes - you can use jZip on the APNK PCs to create and open Zip files.
Zipping reduces the data size of files and is therefore useful for uploading or emailing attachments or reducing the amount of space to store files.
Note -
- many email providers block zip files as an unsafe file type
- zipping images or photo files won't reduce the file size as the file is already "compressed"
- jZip can un-pack the .rar files type
Using jZip to compress files -
- open My Computer
- right click the file or files you wish to compress
- select j-zip from the context menu
- add to archive
- rename the archive if you wish
- to change the default archive format click on the drop down arrow, most people's computers can cope with ZIP file format
- click OK
