WiFi | Can Kindle receive email?

Yes - the Kindle can receive emailed documents on the APNK WiFi.

Note your Kindle’s email address

The purpose of this is so you can send documents from a computer to later read on the Kindle.  Amazon converts the documents after you send the email and forwards them to your Kindle.

The Kindle only receives these emails if the sender is on Your Kindle Approved E-mail list, check here:

The Kindle Personal Document Service can convert and deliver the following types of documents:

  • Microsoft Word (.doc)
  • Rich Text Format (.rtf)
  • HTML (.htm, .html)
  • Text (.txt) documents
  • Archived documents (zip , x-zip) and compressed archived documents
  • Mobi book

Images that are of type JPEGs (.jpg), GIFs (.gif), Bitmaps (.bmp), and PNG images (.png).

The following document types are converted and delivered on an experimental basis:

  • Microsoft Word 11 (.docx)
  • Adobe PDF (.pdf) for First Generation Kindles
