Check our wifi troubleshooting checklists for detailed info
Top reasons you can't connect
- Fixed IP (TCP/IP settings)
- Fixed DNS (TCP/IP settings)
- Internet Explorer, or your prefered web browser, has a Proxy set
- Internet Explorer has dial-up settings
- Your FIREWALL is preventing you accessing the Internet - try turning it off to troubleshoot further.
Have you agreed to the Terms of Use?
- Make sure you open a web browser (eg Internet Explorer or Firefox) and agree to the APNK Terms of Use first before continuing to a website you want to view.
Are you at Dunedin, Hamilton, Nelson or Puke Ariki New Plymouth Libraries?
- These libraries have two Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Your laptop will not automatically connect to the WAP with the best signal. You may need to refresh your Wireless Connections window and connect to the one with the better signal strength.
