USB | Can I plug my camera or phone in?

If your camera or phone has a memory card remove it and plug it into the memory card reader located on the front of the APNK computer.  See Memory Card | How can I use?

Issues using a cable to connect USB devices

You can try plugging in your USB device (eg camera, video camera, MP3 player, phone, or PDA ) using a USB cable but it probably won't work.  (iPod/iPhone users see iTunes FAQ)

  • If you plug in the device and a administrator username and password box appears on the screen you can NOT use your device on the computer
  • If the device requires software or drivers to be installed before it shows in My Computer then NO you can't use your device on the APNK computers
  • If you plug in your device and the computer displays a message regarding the device may not work properly until the computer is restarted, Do NOT RESTART the PC. All changes are wiped when the computer restarts, so the process is futile.  Just try accessing the device without a restart.

If you plug in your device you may see it appear in My Computer - this means you may be able to access the files on your USB device - APNK computers support devices that are seen by Windows as "Mass Storage Devices".
