Downloads | Can I download?
Yes - you can download files from the Internet using the APNK computers or wifi and copy your downloads to removable media like a USB Flash drive or CD.
Please be aware that you can NOT install software on the APNK computers. That means you can not install games, drivers or plug-ins like Active-X controls for Internet Explorer. The APNK computers prevent you installing software that is not already loaded on the computer AND any changes you make, including files you might have saved to My Documents or the hard drive of the computer, are wiped the next time the computer restarts.

- APNK provides a broadband network connection to the library - download (and upload) speeds vary depending on location and load
- Pornographic content is BLOCKED
- Files containing viruses are BLOCKED
- There are download and upload file size limits: as of November 2009 download file size limit is 800 MB and upload file size limit is 200 MB
- Files that end with .exe or are "installers" are prevented from running on the APNK PCs
- Websites that require downloading files on non-standard network ports are BLOCKED eg Runescape, play.clubpenguin.com, midomi.com and some chatrooms/chat software are also blocked. Online gaming websites than operate on non-standard ports are not supported on the APNK network (PC and wifi)
